The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, on Sunday, denied having a telephone conversation with the national leader of the All Progressives Congress,(APC) Bola Tinubu, about the second term ambition of the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

In a disclaimer shared on his verified Twitter handle and Facebook page, it was stated that Pastor Adeboye “has not and would not be involved in inter /intraparty politics in Nigeria and anywhere RCCG is present across the world.”

But Pastor Adeboye urged Nigerians to get their Permanent Voter Cards and exercise their civic duty.

News made the rounds that the ‘elders’ rejected Ambode as their governor in the forth-coming elections under the umbrella of the ruling APC. It was also gathered that the present Lagos state governor, Ambode has begged Tinubu who has made public that fact that his hands are tied in the matter as he is bound to do the ‘elders’ bidding.

The aggrieved ‘elders’ have tabled their grievances, being that Ambode has rejected them during his current tenure.
