Grammy Award-Winning Rapper, Cardi B Confirms She’ll be in Lagos and Accra for Livespot X Festival

In the next couple of weeks, Cardi B will join the elite list of global music superstars who have made the trip to Nigeria. Here are 5 tips to help her pull off a great show.

Sing The National Anthem

Beyonce’s visit to Nigeria in 2006 for the Beyonce Concert that was organised by Ndukka Obaigbena will always be remembered, partly because of this one singular act. Cardi can etch her name in Nigerian music history if she can repeat this feat.

Party Like it’s 99

She can also take a cue from Major Lazer. All 3 members of the EDM music group had the time of their lives when they made a stopover in Lagos last year during their African tour. Back in October 2018, the music trio linked up with the likes of Skales, Korede, and Do2dtun for the “U-Live” Africa festival. Even a year after that epic night, it’s still one of the biggest turn-ups in recent times.

Link Up With Some Naija Stars

Once again, this is another way to win over the Nigerian music fans. A couple of pictures of Cardi B and Tiwa or Davido in Lagos is sure to break the internet. This is another thing Major Lazer absolutely nailed. During their visit to Lagos, they were spotted with A-list artiste such as Mr Eazi and Skales.  J-Cole also teased his visit to Lagos when he was spotted with Tiwa back in 2017. This was months before he eventually came to Nigeria in April 2018.

Dance To Our Music

How epic would it be to see the former stripper pull off some Zanku or shaku-shaku? That’s the kind of stage antics Cardi needs on December 7. Ciara danced to Tekno’s smash hit “Duro” when she came to  Nigeria in 2016 for the third edition of Darey’s ‘Love Like a Movie’ concert and it certainly made her visit more memorable.

Speak Our Language

Even though our official language is British English, we all know that our true Language is “Nigerian English”. Seeing Cardi say a little bit of “shey” and “abi” will certainly make her appearance even more exciting. We can all remember that cringe moment when Darey asked

Ciara how she was enjoying her visit to Nigeria and she replied saying: ‘I dey for Lagos, I dey Kampe’ .
