Chris Ihidero To Headline The Lagos Film Academy’s Training Week At The Second Edition Of The Tv Writing Masterclass Between 8th To 12th July 2019

Award-winning producer, writer, and filmmaker, Chris Ihidero is to again headline the second edition of the TV Writing Masterclass organized by the Lagos Film Academy, a non-profit organization seeking to address crucial skill gaps in the creative industry.

The TV Writing Masterclass is set to hold on the 10th, 11th and 12th of July, during the Lagos Film Academy’s much anticipated Training Week, which is from the 8th of July to the 12th of July, 2019.

After years of lecturing, and three years of engineering StoryStory, a free storytelling workshop for storytellers and creatives, Chris Ihidero last year took the class of aspiring TV writers through what it takes to write amazing TV shows, and how to inevitably make money from doing so.

Chris Ihidero is no stranger to creating, writing and producing serials from every cadre. He has directed Fuji House of Commotion, been Head writer of Africa Magic Hush, and also been Head Writer and Showrunner of Africa Magic Forbidden, as well as being the producer of two seasons of MTV Shuga.

During the Masterclass, attendees will learn among many other things; how to use the universal trait of human emotions to write shows that will travel and consumed by mass audiences. They will also glean valuable information about how to take their now-honed craft to the next level from writers-for-hire.

“I am thrilled to be working with the Lagos Film Academy again to deliver an explosive week of training and learning for the young and mid-career creatives in our midst,” Mr. Ihidero notes. “Learning from experts and training the next batch of creatives is how an industry grows.”

Trainees wound down on the last day, by attending SMATmedia and TNS’ monthly industry event, First Fridays. It served as the perfect ending to a long week of hard work and major paradigm shifts. The Nollywood classic ‘Keeping Faith’ was screened, and a night of cocktails and networking followed.

Participants of both StoryStory and TVWM will also combine for a Q&A session on storytelling for 3hrs on Saturday July 13th. Chris Ihidero will be joined by other notable filmmakers for this session. This will then be followed by a cocktail.
