Seyi Shay Responds As Twitter NG Bash Her Over Harsh Verdict Of A 17-Year-Old Contestant

Seyi Shay is currently trending on social media and surprisingly, it’s not related to a new song or an album, but over her comment about a 17-year-old male contestant on reality singing show, Nigerian Idol.

The singer is being criticized after her ‘Harsh’ verdict of the boy. The Young Boy who auditioned for the show appeared before the judges, DJ Sose, Obi Asika, and  Seyi Shay for a breakdown of his performance. Seyi Shay who happened to be the judge to assess the boy didn’t sugarcoat her remarks.  She literally told him that he was deceived to come for the audition and that he is a terrible singer. She added that he will do well as a songwriter, but singing is not his calling.

This comment didn’t sit well with Nigerian Twitter users, majority of whom are fans of the show.

They took to the micro-blogging site and aired their views, dragging the singer since Sunday night when Season 6 Episode 1 of the show was aired.

Seyi Shay finally responded to their criticism via her Twitter account.

“I’m feeling like #JudgeJudyright now. You either LOVE her OR you HATE her, and that’s quite ALRIGHT! Either way, Thanks for the #1 trend tweeps”.
