It’s Women’s Month! Here Are 5 Ways To Celebrate Women This Month

Spread the love

Every day is a good day to celebrate women, however, the month of March has been set aside to recognise and appreciate every woman whose effort, sacrifice and contribution to the society has made the world a better place.

Although observed throughout the month, March 8 marks the special occasion to celebrate women all over the world.

So, let’s take a look at five exciting ways to celebrate women this month:

1. Tell them how much they inspire you

Words of affirmation are one of the five love languages, and it has a powerful effect on the receiver. Acknowledging the good work they do, celebrating their achievements and telling them how much they inspire you will go a long way in making them feel good.

You can do this via text messages, phone calls, face-to-face conversations or a post on social media with a beautiful caption that will leave them smiling.

2. Watch films with female leads or by female filmmakers

Have you observed the trends lately? A lot is going on in the entertainment sphere. From blockbuster hits to indie films, women are taking the entertainment industry by storm.

There have been lots of amazing shows and movies pioneered by women, with each of them exuding sophistication. You might want to consider a Showmax “movie spree” this month.  Watch movies with strong female leads or films made by women on Showmax. You’ll be amazed by the incredible talent on display.

3. Gift them a self-care treat

Being an adult can be stressful, and what better way to help the women in your life and around you relieve stress than by giving them a self-care treat?

It could be a solo trip to the spa for a day of relaxation, a girls’ staycation at a beautiful resort, an all-expense paid trip to a  beach or even lunch for a day or a number of days.

This treat will go a long way in making the woman feel appreciated and celebrated.

4. Support women-owned businesses

Supporting businesses owned by women is a very thoughtful and effective way to celebrate them. More women are taking up entrepreneurship and starting businesses that see to the needs in the society and even tackle social causes.

You can support women-owned businesses by buying from them or getting their service, collaborating with their business where applicable, amplifying your favourite women-owned business on social media and giving positive reviews when you get good services. These will go a long way in supporting that business.

5. Get educated on some of the challenges women face

It’s not news that women deal with a lot daily. From menstrual cycles to pregnancy, to societal pressure and a lot more. Getting educated on some of these situations and knowing how you can support and show some love to the women around you when they are experiencing any of these would go a long way.

You can learn about them by reading up on some female-focused websites/platforms, speaking to your female family and friends and watching some shows centred around female empowerment and friendship like Run The WorldInsecureSex and the City and a host of others on Showmax.
