    I won’t step down – Ambode dares Tinubu as APC leaders endorse Sanwo-Olu

    The battle for the soul of Lagos State took a strange twist yesterday when Governor Akinwunmi Ambode boldly told a meeting of leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, at the Bourdillon, Ikoyi home of the party’s National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, that he will not step down for their preferred candidate in the 2019 governorship race in the state.

    Tinubu reportedly bursts into tears as APC chieftains beg him over Ambode

    Report has it that a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, burst into tears during a meeting with leaders of the  party over the issues between him and Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode. The meeting saw former governors of Osun and Ogun States, Chief Bisi Akande and Aremo Segun Osoba, leading Ambode to beg Tinubu who is said to have dropped support for his re-election bid.     The Governor Of Lagos State Akinwunmi Ambode is in the news again, barely a few days after announcing the impending increase of Land Use charge in the state. The news of increase of Land Use Charge in Lagos State and vehicle registration hasn’t gone down well with residents of the populous Lagos state. Lagos governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Tuesday ordered public and private school principals in the state that students should sing the National Anthem in Yoruba Language daily. Deputy Governor, Dr Idiat Adebule, relayed the directive at a meeting with Principals and Head Teachers of public schools in Lagos.
