The hopes of thousands of Nigerian music fans for a second Grammy for the country this year have been dashed as Angelique Kidjo has beaten Burna Boy to the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary World Music Album. Burna Boy had been nominated in the category for his acclaimed album ‘African Giant’.
We’re quickly running out of superlatives to describe Burna Boy. Over the last 2 years, Burna has surpassed expectations in every way imaginable and his burgeoning global acclaim adds further credence to his stellar career. He’s been all over the world in 2019, and it would not be a complete December without seeing Burna on stage. However, at Livespot X, the African giant will be linking up with another music heavyweight in Cardi B.
Serial hitmaker Burna Boy has been announced as the winner of the Best Africa Act award at the 2019 MTV EMA’s. Burna who was nominated alongside fellow Nigerian, Teni the Entertainer, South Africa’s Prince Kaybee and Nasty C, Harmonize from Tanzania and Togo’s duo TooFan, took home the prestigious award at a star studded event held in Seville, Spain on Sunday, November 3rd, 2019.
Zlatan and Burna Boy return with a new powerful joint tune “Gbeku” to introduce the new dance step. Rave of the moment, Zlatan teams up with African Giant, Burna Boy for another banging collaboration. The new song is titled “Gbeku” and it’s here to ride on the huge success of their first joint “Killin Dem“. Serial hit maker Rexxie showed his amazing production skills on this new record.
