The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PPD), Uche Secondus, has labeled Thursday’s rerun election in Osun as a black day for Nigeria. This he made at a meeting with the National working Committee of the party in Abuja, where they rejected the results announced by INEC which saw Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress emerge winner.

President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the Osun rerun election results by congratulating the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Governor-elect of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola, “for winning the keenly contested governorship election.” Buhari also felicitated with the state and national campaign teams that “worked assiduously to guarantee the victory at the polls,”
