    Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar wins PDP Presidential primaries Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has emerged winner of the presidential primaries of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) held in Port Harcourt over Saturday night, 6th October through  to Sunday morning, 7th October. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has now emerged the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP for the 2019 presidential election following Sunday’s election. He came top ahead of 11 other aspirants at the end of the party’s presidential nomination convention. He polled about 1,500 more than the combined votes of all the other aspirants.

    PDP vows to Beat Sanwo-Olu in Lagos

    The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that the emergence of Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will enable an easy victory for the PDP in next year’s governorship election in the state. The party’s Publicity Secretary, Gani Taofik, said the APC and Sanwo-Olu would be beating black and blue. The party also added that a national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, rejected the second term bid of the incumbent governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, because of alleged disagreement in the sharing of the state’s resources.

This he made at a meeting with the National working Committee of the party in Abuja, where they rejected the results announced by INEC which saw Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress emerge winner.

    The PDP has described the development Of Senator Dariye  picking up a nomination form from Prison as “shocking, strange and embarrassing.” “It is shocking that a convict serving a 14-year jail term will be given a nomination form to contest an election. This is just ridiculous,’’ Mr Ben Shignugul, PDP Vice Chairman (Plateau Central), told NAN.
