Pop act Yinka “Lamboginny” Lawanson has released his new single titled “Kirikiri Don Full,” as part of a campaign to raise awareness about prison conditions in Nigeria. The release came after he attended the recent UN Summit in New York dressed in orange prison overalls and handcuffed to make a public statement about overcrowded Nigerian prisons and the high number of detainees who spend months or even years awaiting trial.
Sex offender and Former England football star Adam Johnson is reportedly set to be released from prison later this month, having served half of a six-year sentence. Thirty-one-year old Johnson was given a six-year stretch after being found guilty of one count of sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl in February 2016. Judge Jonathan Rose, who presided over the case, said at the time that Johnson used his ‘celebrity status’ to carry out his ‘calculated, considered and carefully orchestrated’ abuse. Meek Mill took the stage at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami earlier tonight which marked his first performance since getting released from prison last month. Meek served about six months of the two-to-four years that he was sentenced to for violating his probation terms.
