Nigerians have a long history of political activism, and the elections provide an opportunity for citizens to express their views and participate in the democratic process.
The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that the emergence of Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will enable an easy victory for the PDP in next year’s governorship election in the state. The party’s Publicity Secretary, Gani Taofik, said the APC and Sanwo-Olu would be beating black and blue. The party also added that a national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, rejected the second term bid of the incumbent governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, because of alleged disagreement in the sharing of the state’s resources.
