Nicaragua Captain: “I did not vote, but results show I voted for Messi”

Nicaragua national team captain Juan Barrera said in an interview that he did not vote for the FIFA ‘The Best’ award, but his name appeared in the final voting list.

Already, people were not so pleased with Meghan Rapinoe winning best female the same night ahead of other contenders, including team mate Alex Morgan. This further fuels suspicion that the Fifa Best awards is rigged.

Juan Barrera, Nicaragua Captain: “I did not vote for Messi in TheBest. I was very surprised to see myself on the list of captains who voted for him when I did not vote this year. ”

“FIFA says they sent me the voting link to my email, but I never received it, I couldn’t vote.”

In the papers released by FIFA, Juan Barrera voted as the captain of Nicaragua.

His votes were: 1. Messi, 2. Mane, 3. Ronaldo
